Expect big crowds for this year’s JMSDF-MCAS Iwakuni Friendship Day on May 5.

The 45th annual open-base event will feature an airshow, static displays, food vendors and a variety of performances.

During the event, check out some impressive U.S. aircraft like F-35Bs, P-8s, EA-18Gs and aircraft from Japan Self-Defense Forces like US-2, P-3, U-36A, MCH-101 and plenty more.

Blue Impulse, JSDF’s special aerobatic demonstration team, will provide astonishing aerobatics and precision-flying demonstrations to add excitement to the day.

A shuttle bus service (paid) will be available between JR Iwakuni Station and the drop-off point aboard the installation.
